FCCLA - Baking for Birthdays

The Chadron FCCLA chapter has been working on a community service project throughout the school year called “Baking for Birthdays”. At the beginning of the school year, primary and intermediate teachers were asked to communicate with our chapter through a form telling us if they had students in their class they felt needed some extra help in celebrating their birthdays within their classroom. Their responses included how many cupcakes they would need, what flavor they would like and left the rest up to the chapter. Chadron FCCLA high school students then spent time after school, baking, decorating, and delivering orders upon the requested birth dates. This project has proven to be a great experience for the FCCLA members and has brought smiles to many of our younger students in the school district. We will continue this project until the end of the year and most likely continue into the next year.

Prom Back At CSC!

We're excited to announce that prom will move back to the CSC Student Center this spring!

Due to scheduling conflicts, the Chadron High School prom has been held in the middle school gym the past few years. We were fortunate to have the opportunity to return to the CSC Student Center for prom beginning this spring.  All prom events including the Grand March, the Meal, the Dance and Post Prom will all be housed in the Student Center similar to past years.

Chadron High School Prom is scheduled for Saturday, April 20th at 7:00p.

Senior Scholarships and FAFSA Days!

 Hi Seniors!!

Happy 2024, as you can tell the scholarship opportunities are ramping up in the scholarship drive folder (attached). As always, I will email them to you directly first and then put them in the scholarship drive folder.  I know it's tedious but you have a GREAT essay and a GREAT resume written in your government and English courses, use what you have and try not to re-create the wheel each time to fill out as many as you can! Keep track of any scholarships you have received, you will self-report these scholarships for honors night in May!
FAFSA days are coming up!  Andrew Hunzaker from EducationQuest will be here next week on the 15th and 16th and again on February 6th and 7th to help those who have made appointments.  If you have not made an appointment please call the number on the flyer attached to book yours! Make sure you have your FSA ID completed BEFORE you arrive for your appointment.  Both student and parent need to create an FSA ID online before arrival.  Make sure your social security number is accurate on this form!  It takes less than 5 minutes and you get your FSA ID at https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch

Final reminder to get your Jostens order in for graduation!  We had a snafu with tassels so if you need any help see Mrs. Berry right away. We will be gathering with 12th grade leadership to come up with songs, flowers, and other graduation items shortly so listen to announcements and watch for emails to nominate songs and flowers as well as voting.

Have a great day!
