Chadron FFA Range Judging Results

2016 Range Judging Results

Chadron Agricultural Education students competed last Wednesday in Area 1 Range judging competition held near Dix Nebraska.  There were seven stations involved in the competition, including range plant identification, ecological site classification, percent of pasture usage, overall pasture health, range AUM (annual unit month) calculations, and a written test covering general range knowledge.  Chadron High had 27 AgEd students participate.  The ribbon winners are as follows:

In the Senior Individual Division
Billy Tidyman 3rd place overall earning a RED ribbon

In the Junior Division:
Tate Ryan was 6th, Hailey Watson 7th, Cole Madsen 9th Jonathan Vahrenkamp 12th--all earned GREEN ribbons

In team competition, the Junior Team of Hailey Watson, Cole Madsen, Cooper Heusman, & Cooper Wild placed 3rd and earned a Red Ribbon!

As a result of these placings, all earned an opportunity to compete at the state range judging competition in Lincoln Nebraska on September 28th, 2016.  These students will compete using the same format against other qualifiers from across Nebraska.
