Juniors Have Full Access To A Paid ACT Prep Program!

Parents: Please encourage your junior to access this paid ACT online prep!  Different courses at Chadron High School align to content specific portions of the ACT, but we do not have a formal class that prepares students for any specific test, including the ACT.   As Mrs. Watson states, "A strong ACT is the single best way to earn scholarships..."

(email to all juniors in October)

Hi Juniors!

You have all been officially registered for the fully paid version of ACT's online prep!  It is an amazing resource for you to use and the best part is that once you take a full length practice test the whole course will cater to YOU, where you are at, and what you need to do to get better in each subject area.  Please utilize this!  A strong ACT score is the single best way to earn scholarships and money for college!

Online Ticket Info for Subdistrict Volleyball @ Sidney

From Sidney High School:

This year in order to keep our facilities operating while keeping attendance at/under 50%, we are going to use an online ticket system. There will be an option to print for those who want hard copies of their tickets. Also, for those who want to scan in with their phones, we will be able to accommodate. Tickets will need to be ordered through the links. Spectators will pay after they've been checked in on site. Please get this communicated!!!

This link is for your fans/students: (100 max): http://bit.ly/ChadronFans

(A separate link is provided to the coach to distribute to parents of players.)

Tickets will be able to be ordered until Monday at 2:00 PM MT.

It’s pretty simple! We can delete the ticket if we see your name appear multiple times.

Let your school know if you have questions or need assistance.

Good Luck to all teams!

Note from Supt. Meyer Regarding CPS CoVid Dial

 Chadron Public Schools CoVid Dial

We know that the "risk dial" continues to move in the Panhandle (and all parts of the state).  We continue to communicate with the Panhandle Public Health District (PPHD) on  a weekly basis.  We discuss our school protocols, data, and community risks.  We will continue to work on and monitor our School Community Status.  You will notice that it has no correlation with the Panhandle Risk Dial.  Our status does not solely rely on their dial.  If you monitor our CoVid dashboard our cases have lessened.  Through contact tracing, done by PPHD, it has been determined that cases have originated outside of the school.  This gives us confidence that our Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) are working and are keeping our kids safe. In my opinion, staying in school continues to be the prudent thing to do and one of the safest places for our students.   The confirmed cases in our district still remain manageable because we are following our SOP's.

Wearing masks, social distancing, sanitizing, and hand-washing remain our best defense.

Here is our CoVid page on our school website:  https://www.chadronschools.org/covid-19

Chadron Public Schools - 2020 Health Screenings

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Hope this letter finds each of you and your families off to a great school year!

We are writing to let you know that the required school health screenings will be held on November 3rd and 4th.  The schedule will be as follows:

November 3rd morning- High School (10th - 11th grades)

November 3rd afternoon - Intermediate School (3rd - 4th)

November 4th morning - Primary School (K - 2nd)

November 4th afternoon - Middle School (6th - 7th)

These are routine school days so we will be pulling your child’s class for a short time to complete a hearing, dental, vision and height, weight screening.  A current physical is required for incoming Kindergarten and 7th grade students so they will not be participating in the height/weight portion.  Incoming Kindergarten students are required to have a current vision exam, they will not be completing that portion at this time.  Kindergarten hearing screenings have already been completed.  These screenings are not only a requirement by the State of Nebraska but also very important in early diagnosis of potential barriers in a student’s ability to learn and grow!

CAPWN Dental will also be completing dental screenings and/or treatments for ALL grades who’s permission slips (sent home the beginning of the year) were filled out and returned.

If you do not want your child/ren to participate in the free screenings, you will need to come to the school and sign a waiver.  Due to the screenings being a state requirement, we will need you to provide the school with documented results from your private providers for each area of screening, completed within the last 6 months,  by December 1, 2020.

Please let us know if you have any questions.
