Chadron FFA Competes in 2nd Virtual Contest

The Chadron FFA Chapter was represented well on Wednesday, January 13th, 2021 at WNCC (VIRTUAL) contest. Hopes were high for an in person event in Scottsbluff (where we routinely shine) but, it was not meant to be this time. However, a big congratulations goes to our members for stepping up and having the courage to compete anyway. Teams competed in welding, ag sales, floriculture and livestock management.  The welding team had four welds to create and take an online test. The welds were then shipped to WNCC for scoring.  The Ag Sales team had to administer an individual “zoom” sale call to a potential client and try selling a type of drone that best fits a given scenario and take an online test. Floriculture had two online tests that focused on horticulture concerns with the growing and marketing of flowers and ornamental plants, in addition to, usage in floral arrangement and design as well as plant identification. Students involved in the livestock management contest were able to work as a team but focused on multiple species (beef, horse, dairy, sheep, poultry-mgmt and evaluation, and swine).

The FFA Chapter is rolling along with 3 of 4 teams qualifying and look forward to having more members qualify for state in the next two contests. (Submitted by Reporter Jalei Marcy)
