WELCOME TO 5 BULLET FRIDAY! The Chadron High School Cardinal Counseling Department is excited to share our 5 Bullet Friday Newsletter for the 2019-20 school year!  Each week we will be providing readers with five facts, tips or tricks to help make the school year a success academically, emotionally, and socially!  If you do not wish to receive this email feel free to UNSUBSCRIBE using the button located at the bottom of this email. 1. Welcome Back & Schedules!! Welcome Back Cardinal Nation!  We are excited to see you on January 7th!  Enjoy the last few days of break, schedules will be printed and READY for you with your class sponsors in the commons before school on Tuesday morning! Reminder, at this point schedule changes are DONE the only way to change a class this far into the school year is through teacher recommendation.  If you are having an issue please communicate directly with your teacher BEFORE coming into the school counseling office.  Most class sections are entirely full so there are very few options for movement at this point.   2. Podcast Recommendation: Digital Predators Parents - Check out this podcast or youtube video of the Mel Robbins Show.  In this episode she interviews both students and experts about navigating social media, the online world, and digital predators.  I'm not asking you to remove all social media from your student's smart phone, however, I'm asking you to be VERY aware of who they are talking and messaging with.  This is VERY. REAL. and I see and hear stories like these every year in the School Counseling Office.  Trust me, it's worth your listen. 3. Seniors - Graduation is Right Around the Corner, How are You Doing on Scholarships? There are TONS of scholarships in the Google Drive folder, check it out below, reminder, we organize these folders based on DUE DATES.  All scholarships due in January are in the JANUARY FOLDER, all scholarships due in February and in the FEBRUARY FOLDER.... you get the gist.  Give it a gander and TURN. Course Offerings at Chadron High School Tis the season to start thinking about next years courses!  When we return to school after break students will start the course request process (late January).  Take some time over break to check out course offerings at CHS listed below!  Also, check out course descriptions and maps at www.cardinalcounseling.weebly.com 5.
